It is such a blessing to be back at Roopville Elementary School. I am looking forward to serving the Roopville School community as your Principal. I have a Bachelors Degree in Middle Grades Education, a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology, a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership. I began my career as a middle school teacher. After several years, my oldest daughter, Briana, asked me to teach at her elementary school. I thoroughly enjoyed my years as a fifth grade teacher. After leaving the classroom, I became the Assistant Principal of Roopville Elementary School for three years before serving as the Assistant Principal at Villa Rica Elementary School.
I have lived in Georgia all of my life. My husband, Jonfry, and I live in Douglasville with our three daughters, Briana (10), Ariel (5), and Madelyn (2). I am an avid reader and enjoy camping with my family. Our goal is to see to camp in every state in the continental United States.
My commitment as your Principal is to work tirelessly to ensure that Roopville Elementary School continues to be a great place for children. I welcome your input, ask for your support, and encourage your participation in your child’s education. Together we will help all of our students attain the academic, social, and emotional success.

I am thrilled to be back with my Roopville family as the Assistant Principal of Roopville Elementary School! Most of you remember me from my previous years (2000-2009) at RES as Reading Recovery teacher, Quest teacher, and then Curriculum Specialist. Those years were very special to me for many reasons. What you may not know is this is my twenty-first year in education. The first ten of those years were spent as a first grade teacher, kindergarten teacher, then Reading Recovery teacher in Norfolk, VA. In the two years I have been gone from RES, I have served as an Instructional Coach for Carroll County Schools. I have two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision.
I was born and raised on a farm in Missouri, moved to California where I met and married my husband, Bob (we’ve almost reached 33 years!), then moved to Virginia where we were blessed with one son, Jonathan. Bob still works for Delta Airlines which brought us here to Georgia, and Jonathan is an architect in San Francisco. We all love to read and travel and are always planning our next trip. We are very blessed indeed!
Roopville Elementary is also blessed to have the support of such a devoted faculty and staff, loving parents, committed community, and of course the kind of students we all want to take credit for. I commend you all for the part you have played in making them so and urge you to continue as we form the future. I am so happy to be a part of you all again.
